Volunteer Program offered at San Juan Island Library

Volunteers help the library serve the community by checking in and returning materials to the shelves, by assisting library patrons with technology questions, by tutoring people in the English language, by helping with special projects. There are occasional openings in the crew of volunteers who help mend damaged books or prepare new books for library circulation.

Offers a range of activities and services which are designed to meet the information and learning needs of patrons and to facilitate their enjoyment of library resources. Included are reference services, programs which introduce and encourage reading, services which enable people who cannot access the facility to utilize library resources and special collections which provide access to a broad spectrum of general and specialized book and non-book material as well as reading material in alternative formats.
