Pre College Programs offered by Highline College's Center for Extended Learning
Offers pre-college level courses in reading, writing, study skills, arithmetic and English language skills for students who want to gain, or improve, their academic skills. Adult Basic Education (ABE) Provides reading, writing, math, English, spelling, and adult practical literacy (consumer education). Instruction is individualized and classes are held in a variety of facilities. GED Classes Classes help improve reading, writing and math in order to pass the GED test. Classes are also held in Spanish. Highline College is a testing center certified to administer the GED test through the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education. Individuals 16 years of age or older may earn a certificate of educational competence with a satisfactory score on the General Educational Development test. Arrangements for taking the test may be made through the Testing Center. Special testing arrangements for students with disabilities are available. High School Completion Offers students who have had their high school education interrupted an opportunity to earn their High School diploma through Highline College. Must be age 21 or older.

Call for more information. To enroll in a GED preparation or ABE Basics Skills course students will need to attend an orientation which takes approximately two hours.
Fee
Fees vary based on program. Most classes are $25 per quarter. Scholarships may be available.
