RE-ADD - Hilltop Artists in Residence
Based in Hilltop Heritage Middle School and Silas High School, we provide six tuition-free glass art programs (Daytime Public School Elective class, Afterschool, Summer Program, Arts Connect, Alumni/Team Production, Outreach) to underserved youth populations. Through our Outreach Services program, we provide wrap-around support for students experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, anxiety, physical/mental/substance abuse, education and employment challenges, and other issues. One of our programs, called Arts Connect, is a community-based program for females who are involved with the Pierce County Juvenile Court, through the court’s criminal Diversion Program (probation) and civil Dependency Program (foster care, truancy, and at-risk). Serving females ages 12-18, Arts Connect provides an environment for students to build trust, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Each quarter, the students explore a new medium, such as glass fusing, printmaking, glassblowing, and photography.
