Eligibility

Ages 9-17. Youth may call for services or be placed by DCYF or law enforcement. Referrals may also come from schools, DCYF, hospitals, detention, probation, law enforcement, or anyone else concerned with a youth's safety. Youth not placed by DCYF or law enforcement must voluntarily choose to access shelter and participate in services.

Serves youth who have run away, are experiencing homelessness, or are otherwise in need of temporary shelter. Family reconciliation is emphasized when appropriate. Length of stay varies based on individual need. Crisis intervention, information and referral services, and case management are also available.

Janus Youth Programs

Operates community-based programs in Oregon and SW Washington for children and youth and their families. A network of over 20 programs includes runaway and homeless youth services in the form of street outreach, daytime drop-in centers, emergency shelter, case management, and housing support.
