Bridge Program at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission's Men's Shelter

Offers a one year residential Christian recovery program designed to help clients leave homelessness, end cycles of addiction and other self-destructive behaviors, and grow in their faith. Clients engage in work therapy at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. Provides spiritual guidance and assistance establishing stability through development of life skills and future goals, as well as room, board, clothing and a weekly sustenance allowance. Not a state-certified chemical dependency program.

Eligibility

Homeless men. Do not need to be clean and sober, but must at least seek to be alcohol- and drug-free.   No pattern of violent crimes.

Operates an emergency shelter for men and women during the day.  Provides hot meals, day room, hygiene center, ESL classes, clothing, pet care and chapel services with many programs available to serve Spanish-speaking clients. Provides respite care for men needing bed rest for medical recovery. Coordinates mental health counseling, homeless outreach and 12-step programs. Conducts a residential substance abuse treatment program and transitional housing services for men without children.
