Works to address the issues of child abuse and neglect through training, research, public policy, and grassroots community development. Also works to support compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978. This act seeks to keep Native American children with Native American families. Does not provide legal advice or case management services. NICWA is not a direct service provider.
