Removing barriers by providing accessible, local resources to advance the health, education, and overall well-being of students and their families. Our three programs below: Club House - free, before- and- after-school and summer programs featuring project-based learning and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) activities, & bilingual programming in Spanish & English offered Sept.–June & in a summer intensive. 2023-24 sites: Lydia Hawk & Pleasant Glade Elementary, Chinook & Nisqually Middle Schools. Community Schools - This systemic approach to leveraging community resources provides wrap-around supports to K-12 students and families enhances student & parent engagement, improves attendance, reduces dropout, & improves graduation rates among all students including students and families disproportionately impacted by systemic barriers. Community Schools Case Managers are place-based in Community Resource Centers within most Tumwater schools plus our homelessness prevention/rapid rehousing rental assistance is offered district wide. Host Homes - A proven approach to providing safe, short-term housing for high school students experiencing housing instability by pairing community-based housing with youth-driven case management and wraparound supports to intervene before youth experience chronic houselessness; helps students pursue educational goals, develop & strengthen life skills; and bridge gaps to stable independent housing.
