Employment Planning Services offered at Morningside - Clallam

Employment planning services are designed to assist individuals in determining their vocational goals. Using a person-centered approach, participants learn about employment opportunities within the community and are then able to make informed choices about their employment future. These services are designed to assist individuals in choosing employment outcomes and career development options that are based on his or her preferences, strengths, abilities and needs. Our services offer a variety of activities including job tryouts, job tours, job shadowing, labor market analysis, community-based assessments, and possibilities for volunteering in the community. Morningside's evaluation and employment planning services are a way to help you define what type of job you want and whether that job is right for you. Services in this area help identify your interests, abilities and needs that will be important to you as you set your goals. We will also provide you with the opportunity to explore work options by trying one or more jobs that might interest you.  Working with you and your vocational counselor, we will develop a plan and you decide how many jobs you want to try. Most participants try one to three jobs. Job tryouts usually last two to four weeks.

Application process

Referral from vocational counselor. If you don't have someone to refer you or you aren't sure who to talk to you can call Morningside and someone will be happy to talk to you.

Individuals with disabilities.

Fee

The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and Foundational Community Supports (FCS) pays for most people who need our services. We will work with you to see if they can help you. If they cannot and you receive Social Security benefits we can help you with a work incentive plan to pay for service costs, and to keep your costs at a minimum.

EMPLOYMENT PLANNING and  ASSESSMENT: Individually designed services provide participants with the opportunity to explore work options and try out a job.  Job tryouts can be developed within the local business community or at one of Morningside's structured work areas to gather information regarding vocational strengths, interests, abilities and needs in order to obtain and maintain employment. COMPETITIVE JOB PLACEMENT: Through partnerships with local employers, Morningside identifies and develops employment opportunities for participants based on individual skills, interests, abilities, and vocational goals.  In addition to the hiring process; on-the-job training, structured follow-up, job retraining, and employer consultation services can be provided. INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT: Supported employment is a creative approach to employment for people with disabilities.  Participants receive individualized training and long-term support to ensure job satisfaction and that employee performance meets employer standards.
