Veterans Services offered at WorkSource Pierce County Tacoma Office

Eligibility

A veteran who served full time, active duty in the armed forces for more than 180 days or one who was discharged. To be eligible for the financial assistance part of the program:
  • WA state resident that is employed or looking for work
  • Veteran of the US military or a member of the WA State National Guard or United States Reserves
  • Honorable discharge or medical discharge with honorable record
  • Deployed away from home in support of OEF, OIF, or ONE (receipt of a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal)
  • Experiencing financial hardship where income is not sufficient to meet basic needs.
  • Transitioning to employment or education and present a discernable positive outcome.
---If one has an honorable discharge, but did not serve since September 11, 2001 in Iraq or Afghanistan, they can assist on a case by case basis with rent, mortgage and/or utilities in emergency cases only.
