Advocacy-based counseling, social, medical, legal, advocacy, community education; information and referral for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, an other crimes. Domestic violence groups. Provides violence prevention education.

Coordinates educational activities and recruits volunteers. Presenters are available to speak about issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, crisis intervention, and more. People with good communication skills and an interest in working with people are invited to volunteer. Volunteers are given training and supervision to prepare them to work in the areas of domestic violence or sexual assault.

Offers a comprehensive safety course for women designed to train in prevention measures and adds a hands-on self-defense training. Class instructors will teach striking techniques as well as break away tactics.  

Provides services and resources to victims of domestic violence, including 24 hour crisis line, confidential domestic violence shelter, domestic violence advocacy, support groups, assistance with domestic violence protection orders, food, diapers, clothing, and an advocacy center for family and children with a therapist on site, which offers advocacy-based counseling services with focus on children who are victims of abuse. The staff and volunteers support victims to become survivors of abuse through counseling, shelter, medical and legal advocacy; and methods of prevention and self-preservation, if prevention is not an option.

Provides live, secure and anonymous crisis support for victims of sexual assault, their friends and families over the phone or via the website using a secure and anonymous instant-messaging type format.   Rape and sexual assault victims communicate directly with trained crisis support volunteers.   Hotline can also connect callers to their closest sexual assault crisis center. In addition, the Online Hotline website provides a library of information about recovery, medical issues, the criminal justice process, local resources, and support for family and friends of victims.

Dove House Advocacy Services empowers victims of crime and abuse in Jefferson County through education, advocacy, and crisis intervention. Offering emotional and practical support. General, legal, medical, advocacy. Services are person-centered, trauma-informed, wrap-around, confidential, and free of charge.
