Homework club, library visits, show and tell, one-to-one sessions for members that would like to talk to staff about personal issues.
Power Hour Power Hour is a mandatory hour where members work on their homework and school related activities. Power Hour encourage youth to be responsible for their homework and academic success by providing them a quiet environment in which to complete their homework. Adult and youth volunteers provide homework help and tutoring to encourage members to become self-directed learners. Be Great: Graduate Introduces Club members, ages 6 through 15 to the concept of academic goal setting. In one-on-one sessions with Club professionals, members set achievable "Know-I-Can" goals, more challenging "Think-I-Can" goals and yearly "Believe I Can" goals, then create action plans. The program provides for recognition of members' achievements at every step of the journey. Youth Tutoring Program Students work one-to-one with tutors to build skills in reading and math, get help with homework, and strengthen self-esteem and self-respect.

Recruits students annually and conducts annual Academic Olympic competitions for students in 9th-12th grades in NAACP Branches throughout the country.
First place local winners then compete with youth from other cities at the National ACT-SO finals held during our National Convention.
Includes 26 categories of competition such as sciences, arts and humanities.

Operates a youth center for kids from 4 years old through High School providing mentorship, after-school tutoring, hair salon, bible studies, and music classes, among other things (see website). For the younger kids, daily activities include reading time, color or art activities, games, Bible story time, and snacks/meals. The older kids' daily activities include homework tutoring; game room with Nintendos, Playstations, and foosball; pool; daily Bible study, and snacks/meals. Extra incentive activities are also offered, taking kids bike riding, roller skating at Skateland, bowling, and going to the movies. The Youth Center also offers summer camp opportunities.

Offers a year-long after-school academic programs to newly arrived refugee and immigrant youth in grades 9-12 attending Rainier Beach High School. Also conducts activities to pursue college and career planning.
Works in partnership with Kent Meridian and Rainier Beach High Schools to offer year-long after-school academic programs to all newly arrived refugee youth in high school. Classroom Assistants and students meet weekly to complete homework assignments, tackle the senior research project, and complete important college application paperwork, such as the FAFSA. Time is divided into classroom instruction, individual and group work, mentorship, educational workshops, and access to scholastic resources.
Both sites feature Classroom Assistants who focus on assisting students as they participate in academic activities to improve their reading and writing skills and increase their knowledge of college and career readiness. The program strives to provide the information, resources, and access to opportunities to meet and exceed grade level standards, while completing high school graduation and college application milestones in order to graduate on time and with plans to pursue post-secondary education.
Also provides opportunities for students to participate in civic and community engagement projects to build their leadership skills as well as to complete service learning requirements for graduation.
