Offers trained navigators who work one-on-one with Pierce County residents who are seeking living wage jobs or college education and are unsure of where to begin. Helps residents determine which employment service or education path will best meet their employment goals, and directly connects callers to education and employment organizations. Also helps WorkForce clients access transportation programs, benefits programs, or other services that help remove barriers to employment or education. Service is provided until the client has connected with the best employment or education program, and barriers to employment have been removed.

Youth Engagement Programming that is committed to empowering young people with disabilities, particularly those from immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC communities-through inclusive, culturally responsive programming. The HOPE and Kickstart Program builds on this foundation by offering a year-round, comprehensive support system for youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (DD/ID). The HOPE and Kickstart Programming is designed to foster self-determination, independence, and future planning through a blend of mentorship, peer engagement, and experiential learning. Participants gain essential life and employment skills while connecting with peers who share similar lived experiences. Each section topic includes hands-on activities, guest speakers, role-play games, individual assignments, interactive group activities and field trips.

Provides work clothing and employment support services. Work-Ready Clothing: Interview and work-ready clothing to help individuals transition into the workforce. Clients receive five pieces of work-ready clothing plus shoes, a coat, and accessories when they have a job interview, and five additional pieces of clothing when they get a job. Job Preparation: Provides free job preparation classes for job seekers called Fast Track. Classes are currently online only. The regular cycle of four classes repeats monthly January-November. Additional services are available once Fast Track is completed. Employment Retention: The Professional Women's Group (PWG) is a free ongoing group providing the opportunity for individuals to virtually meet with working women. Includes presentations and workshops to support life and career. The PWG meets regularly for programming with speakers from the community. Examples of program themes include financial education and planning, career development, the written and unwritten rules of the workplace, health and wellness, communication, and leadership skills.

Provides a wide range of employment and training counseling and services for youth, adults, and dislocated workers; including training, education, and support they may need to pursue their career and succeed in the workforce. Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. Sound Works Job Center assists clients in finding local permanent or temporary employment, as well as providing nationwide employment searches. They offer over 1,000 city, county, private businesses and Naval Base civilian job listings. They also provide one-on-one professional resume writing assistance including the navy Civil Service USAJOBS.GOV resumes. Other services include free Washington State typing speed certifications, interview training and background checks. Again, all services are one-on-one and “free” to both the employer and employee. Offers multiple support, education, and socialization groups. Peer coaches empower people to achieve a solid recovery foundation and achieve life goals. Peer coaches support individuals in recovery from: - Addiction Issues (chemical/behavioral) - Mental Health Challenges (short/long term diagnosis, grief & loss) - Chronic Illness (HIV/Hep C – Newly Dealing/Newly Diagnosed) Peer coaches are individually matched with people seeking support in their recovery. The matched pair meets for one hour per week for 26 weeks. Coaches are individuals in recovery who have reached long-term stability. Peer Employment Connections Offers weekly peer support groups that support participants to address fears and barriers about returning to work or work through obstacles they are encountering in their job. Offers vocational assessments, job search tools, resume building, interview preparation, coaching, benefits planning, employment-related clothing and transportation support, and ongoing support for job retention. Resource Connections Offers individualized support to identify and access a range of community resources such as housing or medical care. Participants meet one-to-one with a peer to help make the linkages to essential supports.

A variety of activities and program are available for teens in Redmond. Many of these activities are located at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village.
