Provides Beyond the Bell program and other education and recreation activities. Provides an afterschool program for students in K-5th grade. 
Also has senior activities, such as exercise, Bingo, and a coloring group and an after school program.

Provides an afterschool program for students in K - 5th grade, as well as recreational activities for youth and seniors.

Programs that offer a wide variety of activities including arts and crafts, academic programs, sports, reading clubs, workshops and other recreational, leisure, cultural, social and civic activities for school-age children and youth in out-of-school hours. The objective of youth enrichment programs is to promote healthy social interaction and help participants maximize their social, emotional, physical and academic potential.

Youth Enrichment Programs

Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals of all ages to pursue hobbies or other specific interests in cooperation with others who have the same interest, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable or skilled in the area.

Special Interest Clubs

Programs that attempt to reduce the incidence of violent acts committed by youth on the streets, in the schools or in other settings through a variety of educational interventions which may focus on children of various ages, parents, people who work with families, the schools, health care providers, law enforcement officials and/or the community at large. The program may provide information about model/promising prevention and intervention programs and crisis response strategies; descriptions of the risk factors associated with youth violence; research including statistics on violence committed by and against children and teens; outreach; and/or presentations that may be tailored for a variety of audiences.

Youth Violence Prevention

Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local, regional or state level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.

Recreational Activities/Sports

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills and techniques in any of a variety of visual art forms or crafts.

Arts and Crafts Instruction

Programs that provide nutritious evening meals for disadvantaged children who live in low-income neighborhoods. The meals are often sponsored by local food banks that are part of the Second Harvest network; are served in a safe, accessible, convenient environment; and may be offered in combination with educational, recreational and social activities that draw upon existing community programs. Also included are programs that make weekend meals available to this population during the school year.

After School Meal Programs

Helps youth become involved in the community by offering various clubs and projects to get involved and learn through hands-on activities.  4-H Clubs in Jefferson County include the following free project areas: rabbits, robotics, cats, gardening, video, disc golf, llamas, public speaking, leadership, dogs, horses, sewing, engineering, web design, goats, community service, and other opportunities.  4-H free special events and activities include: teen works programs, camps, summer programs, after school programs, conferences, field trips and more.

Builds youth leadership through hands-on learning and community service.

Programs that teach people the art of public speaking, oratory, debating or other forms of public address and provide opportunities for them to practice their skills.

Public Speaking

Programs that provide opportunities for people to investigate their occupational interests through simulated job experiences such as role playing; career mentoring, i.e., pairing professionals and people interested in that occupation; and job shadowing, a work-based learning experience that allows a visitor to follow a host during a typical day (or other period of time) observing and asking questions about a particular career. Also included are police explorer programs, fire cadet explorer programs, and other similar groups which provide opportunities for youth who may be interested in pursuing a career in these fields as adults to gain experience in the area.

Career Exploration

Programs that provide classes, individual instruction or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills in landscape design; decorative plant selection and maintenance; construction or installation of walls, decking, lighting, fencing and planters; and other aspects of indoor and outdoor gardening.

Gardening/Landscaping Instruction

Voluntary, informal education programs that emphasize the total development of young people who are members through work on the animal, engineering, family/consumer, health, resource, plant or social science project of their choice in consultation with their parents and supervising adult volunteers. Members also participate in camping activities, leadership conferences, awards programs and community service activities.

Youth Agricultural Programs

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or improve their ability to design, make and finish garments and craft items utilizing a wide variety of construction techniques.

Needlecraft Instruction

Programs that provide opportunities for individuals of all ages to develop their leadership and management skills through participation in activities which require planning a workscope, organizing ways to achieve planned objectives, motivating members to complete tasks they have agreed to perform and evaluating the group's progress; or through training which addresses these skills.

Leadership Development

Programs that provide classes for people who want to learn or perfect their ability to produce, direct, shoot and edit films or videotape productions for television or theatrical release. Also included are classes for people who want to develop productions that utilize holographic images.

Filmmaking Instruction

Programs that sponsor group activities, games and/or guided adventures (such as ropes courses) which are designed to build trust, hone problem-solving and decision-making skills, develop respect for others, enhance self-esteem and improve the participant's ability to work cooperatively in a group.
