Provides assessment and admission for inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment in a welcoming and safe environment. Offers a variety of programs including medication management, detox, addiction treatment, family education, holistic therapies (art, yoga, music), care planning, depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, psychosis, ADHD, and co-occurring disorders.

STARS Co-Occurring Intensive Outpatient Services provides a full range of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services in coordination with STARS Sobering, Withdrawal Management, and Residential programs. Outpatient team consists of dedicated professionals who provide: comprehensive behavioral health and mental health assessments, individualized treatment plans, group and individual therapy sessions, case management, discharge and aftercare planning, psychiatric medication evaluation and management services.

The Addiction Treatment is managed by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, chaplains, and addiction therapists. Quitting substances is not required to get support. All substance use-related treatment goals are supported—VA Puget Sound encourages all actions taken to improve health and wellness. Specializes in treatment for those addicted to opioids and alcohol by offering medication to assist in the recovery process. The Deaf and hard of hearing substance use treatment program is one of only a handful in the country.

Provides individual, group, and family counseling for outpatient substance use disorder treatment. Specializes in methadone and suboxone maintenance, as well as DUII education and rehabilitation. Coordinates care with primary care physicians, social services, and court systems. Provides monthly status reports of patient's progress in treatment to courts or other referral sources.
