Serves over 200 people a free, hot breakfast once a week.

Programs offered by churches, restaurants and other organizations that provide meals in a central location for people who lack the resources needed to buy and prepare food. The food may be distributed to people who line up for the meal or may be served to people seated in a dining hall setting, and participants rarely need to establish eligibility for the service.

Volunteer or Donate offered at Shalom Ministries

Shalom Ministries is able to turn cash donations into food for the hungry through their partnerships with Second Harvest and Northwest Food Bank but also seek donations of food and supplies that the Food Banks are not able to provide. Volunteers are always needed to assist with free breakfast and dinner service.

Programs that identify individuals who have chosen to work on a full or part-time basis without remuneration in one of the human service fields and which systematically evaluate the skills, talents and personalities of recruited volunteers and match them with human service agencies that need voluntary support.

Volunteer Recruitment/Placement

Food banks, food pantries, meal preparation programs and other similar organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills who are willing to support food distribution and meal programs on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Also included are farming operations that are seeking volunteers who are willing to do farm work (tilling/planting/cultivating/harvesting).

Community Meal offered at Trinity Presbyterian Church

Offers free, healthy and well-balanced meals, 365 days a year. Breakfast and dinner are provided every day of the week and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Serves all low-income and homeless individuals in the community - both residents and non-residents of the Mission.

Good Neighbor Cafe offered at Rescue Mission - Downtown Tacoma Campus

Offers free, healthy and well-balanced meals 365 days a year. Breakfast and dinner are provided every day of the week and Lunch every weekend. Serves all low-income and homeless individuals in the community.
