Coordinates a variety of programs to educate and develop youth and their skills.   - Power Hour: A homework help and tutoring program which offers separate sessions for grades 1-6 and 7-12.   - BE GREAT Graduate: Program for high school students. Provides 1:1 mentoring to those enrolled, assisting them on getting their homework finished on time, tracking grades for each of their classes, addressing school absences, and assisting with college applications, etc. Partners with local high schools.   - Club Read: 2nd and 3rd graders who need assistance in learning to read are matched with teen reading coaches for an 8-week program that runs three times per year.   - Smart Kids: For grades 1-5; assists youth with developing skills and knowledge to avoid alcohol and other drugs.   Computer access and basic computer skills tutoring is available.

Provides before and after-school sessions Monday through Friday who are in need of support with homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring.  Parents bring children to the before-school session and return in the evening to pick up their children. Children are transported to and from Beacon Hill International and Kimball Elementary schools by van and they participate in academic as well as cultural activities.

Power Hour Power Hour is a mandatory hour where members work on their homework and school related activities.  Power Hour encourage youth to be responsible for their homework and academic success by providing them a quiet environment in which to complete their homework.  Adult and youth volunteers provide homework help and tutoring to encourage members to become self-directed learners.  Be Great: Graduate Introduces Club members, ages 6 through 15 to the concept of academic goal setting.  In one-on-one sessions with Club professionals, members set achievable "Know-I-Can" goals, more challenging "Think-I-Can" goals and yearly "Believe I Can" goals, then create action plans.  The program provides for recognition of members' achievements at every step of the journey.  Youth Tutoring Program Students work one-to-one with tutors to build skills in reading and math, get help with homework, and strengthen self-esteem and self-respect.

The After School Program provides year-round enriching activities designed to support youth in their academic, social-emotional, and life skills development. Offers a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can thrive academically through personalized homework assistance, targeted literacy development, diverse enrichment activities, and access to technology. Beyond academics, the program promotes social-emotional well-being and life skills through a variety of recreational indoor and outdoor activities, including amateur sports teams such as basketball, flag football, and soccer. These team-based sports provide opportunities for youth to build teamwork, leadership, and resilience while staying active and engaged. Additionally, field trips and enrichment groups further support personal growth and foster a sense of community and belonging. During the summer, the Summer Splash program combats the "summer slide" by reinforcing literacy and math skills to help students maintain and improve their academic performance. Also partners with the Kent School District to provide free summer lunches for youth under 18 at all three program locations. The program operates at three King County Housing Authority sites on the East Hill of Kent: Birch Creek Apartments, Valli Kee Homes, and Cascade Apartments. Each community recreation center features computer labs, activity rooms, teen spaces, and a variety of recreational and educational programming to create a well-rounded experience. Students also receive healthy snacks to stay energized and focused. The program focuses on key life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and resilience, while fostering both soft and durable skills. With the guidance of positive adult role models, youth are empowered to overcome challenges, build confidence, and succeed academically and personally.

Provides before- and after-school child care programs. Before-school program offers breakfast, quiet activities, art projects, gym games, computer time and game room activities. The after-school program combines children by grade with a trained counselor. Together they participate in age-appropriate activities. A nutritional afternoon snack is offered daily. Non School Day Camp is available for all school breaks.

Students having difficulty attending school, completing homework, with social interactions or behavior are eligible to work with family support advocate. The advocate assists with tutoring, communication between school and home, and works with the parents to come up with a plan to help their child succeed in school.

Provides a before and after school program based out of local community centers, as well as school districts for students in K through 12th grades. If you are working on a tough homework assignment or have questions about a lesson, come to the Library for Homework Help. We have volunteers who can help K-12 students with math, science, English, social studies and science. Students without homework can read and play learning enrichment games with trained tutors. You can get Homework Help most days during the school year, except on weekends and school holidays. No reservations are needed just come to the Library during Homework Help hours and bring your homework assignment and textbook. If our volunteers do not know an answer, they will help you find it. Do not worry if you do not have all the supplies you need. We have many things available that you can use, like graphing calculators, markers, paper, pencils, and a laptop. When you come to the Library for Homework Help, let us know what you need – there is a good chance we will have it.

Youth Programs provide a wide variety of services to low-income in-school (ages 14-21) and out-of-school (ages 16-24) youth to help them succeed in school and work. Program participants may receive a range of services from the following areas: occupational skills training; career counseling; internships; job placements; mentoring; tutoring; leadership development; financial literacy; entrepreneurial skills training; local labor market and employment information services; postsecondary education and training transition support; workforce preparation and training activities designed for specific career clusters; and additional supportive services.

The youth program features intensive homework help, recreational activities, monitored computer lab, in-house library, games and snacks in a safe and supportive environment.

Offers daily activities, including sports, games, arts and crafts, reading leisure time, movies and special events. Developmentally appropriate activities are offered and the integrated program serves children from the community as well as children with special needs referred by the Lake Washington School District.

An after school program that supports children in Monroe. Twice weekly, children kindergarten through 5th grade meet together to have a healthy snack, play games and do crafts, meet in small groups to focus on some academic and social/emotional learning, then come back together for a short lesson of the day that focuses on their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and learning.
