Provides after-school programs for children in grades K-5 and full-time enrichment programs during school breaks. Programs include academic enrichment, homework assistance, nutritious snacks, outdoor play and other activities geared toward students' social-emotional and academic skills. During school breaks, full day care is offered.

Offers a computer center, homework assistance and tutoring, free arcade games and summer programs for youth.  Provides staff-supervised games such as ping-pong and pool.

Provides the STEAM after school program, which gives students a safe and fun space to socialize and develops life skills on- and off-site. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Offers homework support/tutoring, performance media, leadership building, sports and recreation, and Lego robotics club (limited spaces).

Provides before- and after-school child care programs.  Before-school program offers time for fun with friends, homework help, quiet activities, art projects, gym games, and game room activities.  A light breakfast and afternoon snack are offered daily.  The after-school program combines children by grade with a trained counselor.  Together they participate in age-appropriate activities and field trips.  Vacation child care is available for winter, spring and summer breaks.  Also offers a Pre-K program for youth ages 4-5, located at the main Ballard Boys & Girls Club location.  Clients are transported to and from school in conjunction with before- and after-school care; transportation is also provided for field trips.

We support students with a variety of conditions:  Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Blind or Visually impaired Learning, Mobility, or Physical Disability Chronic Health, Neurological, or Mental Health Condition Injured students who are returning to school for retraining  The SSD staff works with each student individually to determine reasonable accommodations.

Promote all aspects of youth development including academic engagement, leadership and social skills, community involvement, and pathways to post-secondary education and employment. Helps youth and their families build healthy futures by addressing their entire environment and breaking down barriers that hinder success. Motivating Youth to Succeed in Academics (MYSA) Offers free after-school academic support and individualized plans to decrease or remove barriers to learning for youth, ages 12-21, who are at moderate to high risk of academic failure. MYSA services include individual tutoring and homework assistance, adult mentorship, peer discussion groups and subject specific workshops. Since many students lack access to a computer and internet at home, SFYC provides a computer lab allowing students to complete assignments and do research. The MYSA program helps youth develop a healthy attachment to education and empowers them to take control of their academic future. Youth Leadership program Encourages middle and high school youth to develop leadership and social skills while engaging in community building projects and events throughout the year. This program provides alternatives to risky behavior while fostering a sense of responsibility to the community. Curriculum includes workshops relating to social justice awareness, identity building, volunteerism, and environmental awareness. Case Management Provides prevention and intervention tools for youth who are most at-risk of or are currently involved with gangs and the juvenile justice system. Case Managers provide counseling and act as advocates for their caseload youth and families. Case Management intervention and prevention services include street response and crisis intervention, pre-release visits to detained or incarcerated youth, and risk assessment with ongoing case management. This represents a concerted effort to stop the school to prison pipeline within our communities. Parental Support Provides bilingual services to parents to ensure that youth have wraparound support for their challenges. Parents benefit from workshops, translation services, and other essential services to facilitate family stability. Summer Youth Employment provides high school youth with the opportunity to make money, gain work experience and employment references, cultivate a mature work ethic, and stay connected to social and academic progress while school is out of session. College & Career Preparation Focuses on lessons and activities related to pro-social development, aptitude testing, the current job market, knowledge of education or training needed to move into a particular field of interest, college applications and financial aid, work ethics and professionalism, resume building and interview skills, and exploring paths to post-secondary education and career readiness.

If you are working on a tough homework assignment or have questions about a lesson, come to the Library for Homework Help. We have volunteers who can help K-12 students with math, science, English, social studies and science. Students without homework can read and play learning enrichment games with trained tutors. You can get Homework Help most days during the school year, except on weekends and school holidays. No reservations are needed just come to the Library during Homework Help hours and bring your homework assignment and textbook. If our volunteers do not know an answer, they will help you find it. Do not worry if you do not have all the supplies you need. We have many things available that you can use, like graphing calculators, markers, paper, pencils, and a laptop. School-based staff works every day to address complex matters like social-emotional wellness and access to mental and physical health care while ensuring students have access to basic needs like food, stable housing and technology.

Coordinates weekly activities for area youth.   - Youth Council meets monthly to discuss community awareness projects. - Study Zone is an after-school homework help and study center that meets twice per week where students can access computers and a printer. - Offers teen trips during the school year and during the summer.   - Coordinates DateWise, a program dedicated to promoting healthy relationships and dating violence awareness.

Offers two evening programs per week - Music and scouting-type program for boys and girls ages 6-16 and a Youth Group for Middle School - High School students. Music and scouting program is every Wednesday. Teen night youth group is every other Friday.

Coordinates a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.   Recruits students annually and conducts annual Academic Olympic competitions for students in 9th-12th grades in NAACP Branches throughout the country.   First place local winners then compete with youth from other cities at the National ACT-SO finals held during our National Convention. Includes 26 categories of competition such as sciences, arts and humanities.

Offers a free after-school and summer program currently only for youth residents of King County Housing Authority (KCHA) in the Ballinger Homes Community. Provides a free after-school program with recreational activities, tutoring and homework assistance. Supports the academic and social emotional potential of youth by offering a structured program where students have access to resources, activities, and positive adult support.  Offers a safe, supportive and welcoming environment including healthy snacks.  Helps all participating youth to become well-rounded, contributing members of their communities.  Provides meaningful opportunities for youth voice, leadership, and service learning.  Students are encouraged to complete homework with mentors and participate in enrichment, recreation; physical fitness and life skills activities.

Enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school through high-yield learning activities. Delivers innovative and inspiring programs focused on BGCB's three outcome areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship.

Provides daily afterschool and summer programs for boys and girls, 6-18 years of age. Power Hour Power Hour is a mandatory hour where members work on their homework and school related activities.  Power Hour encourage youth to be responsible for their homework and academic success by providing them a quiet environment in which to complete their homework.  Adult and youth volunteers provide homework help and tutoring to encourage members to become self-directed learners.

Provides a wide range of services for youth 12-24 years of age. Services focus on housing support, mental health, education, parent support, healthcare, criminal/legal support, and advocacy services. - Advocates can help access services based on unique situation & need, such as transportation, phone cards, obtaining a State ID, food banks, DSHS benefit applications, and job search. - Housing support may include housing search, referral to a shelter, temporary housing, or rapid/immediate housing, depending on the client's circumstances. - Refers to Okanogan Behavioral Healthcare or online counseling for mental health support. - Connects clients to criminal/legal support and services, such as defense attorneys, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, or Northwest Justice Project. - Parenting support includes baby items, free books, referrals to child services, and more. - Bilingual tutoring is available on site.
