Provides evaluation and employment planning services to help disabled adults define what type of jobs are available and whether that job is a right fit.
Employment planning services are designed to assist individuals in determining their vocational goals. Using a person-centered approach, participants learn about employment opportunities within the community and are then able to make informed choices about their employment future. These services are designed to assist individuals in choosing employment outcomes and career development options that are based on his or her preferences, strengths, abilities and needs. Our services offer a variety of activities including job tryouts, job tours, job shadowing, labor market analysis, community-based assessments, and possibilities for volunteering in the community. Morningside's evaluation and employment planning services are a way to help you define what type of job you want and whether that job is right for you. Services in this area help identify your interests, abilities and needs that will be important to you as you set your goals. We will also provide you with the opportunity to explore work options by trying one or more jobs that might interest you. Working with you and your vocational counselor, we will develop a plan and you decide how many jobs you want to try. Most participants try one to three jobs. Job tryouts usually last two to four weeks.

Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals.
Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following:
- Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers
- Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance
- Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite
- Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources
In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.
Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

Provides employment and training support to job seekers and businesses. Some eligibility requirements may apply.
- Assists with career assessments, job search, applications, resume/cover letters, job readiness, and interviewing preparation. Assists business with recruitment, hosting employee training, labor market information, and finding candidates for openings.
- Economic Security for All (EcSA) serves families by building a partnership around the four pillars of support: transportation, healthcare, childcare, and employment.
- Unemployment Information: Provide computer and telephone access to apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits. Customers may call the UI hotline at (800)318.6022 or log into eServices at esd.wa.gov/unemployment. (Online application, weekly filing, and submission of documents is encouraged to expedite the process.)
