Provides one-on-one, group mentoring programs and tutoring for youth ages 12-17. Also offers mentoring opportunities by matching conscientious adults with at-risk youth in the Seattle area. Mentors provide support, friendship, encouragement and advice.
Description: Provides virtual group mentoring and one-on-one mentoring programs for at-risk youth in King County. Recruits and trains mentors, pairs them with at-vulnerable risk youths and supports the youth/mentor relationship to increase its power and duration.
Group Mentoring: Blends history, social studies, civic education, economic and service-learning standards into an experiential learning framework to inspire critical thinking, life skills development and youth activism, encouraging youth to choose the road away from incarceration and toward higher education. Youth attend a virtual weekly group session, youth can attend from King County neighborhoods. Youth who attend must be in high school .
One-on-one Mentoring: Youth are matched one-on-one with a mentor who helps them realize alternatives to destructive behaviors. Mentors assist and encourage the mentee to fulfill the goals they have for: education, vocation and a drug- or alcohol-free lifestyle. Also facilitates mentorship opportunities in which caring adults offer guidance, support and encouragement to at-risk youth.
Tutoring: Provided for youth who need assistance with schoolwork, homework and support in math, science, reading etc. Parents must make commitment that their youth will attend Tutoring sessions.

The goal of Powerful Choices programs is to create a space for middle school female youth to: - Be involved in a community of supportive adults, partners, and peers. - Build a supportive and encouraging community with other girls. - To increase communication skills, including stating needs, listening, and empathy. - Develop respect for self and others through the exploration of identity, privilege, and oppression. - Develop skills to be able to identify the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship and refusal skills. - Develop leadership through social responsibility and activism. - Grow through connections with community activists, resources, and role models. During the school year, girls meet once a week as a whole group at middle schools, in addition to having monthly one-on-one meetings with a Powerful Voices staff member to discuss areas of growth and personal goals.

We offer a diverse schedule of in-school and after-school programming designed to support the social and emotional development of our young participants, as well as their educational growth. From academic support to programming that strengthens positive identity and awareness, our programs help our youth reach their full potential. After-School is held throughout the school year Monday through Friday from 2 pm – 5 pm. Our staff put on events and workshops to engage all age groups in our programming in addition to giving space in which to complete homework.

Offers youth ages 14-19 opportunities to experience outdoor recreation and skill-building, and to practice leadership within Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Offers young people opportunities to experience outdoor recreation and skill-building while combining such experiences with community leadership. With skills gained, youth conduct community projects that address needs specific to the Asian and Pacific Islander communities, especially relating to environmental justice.
Outdoor activities include rock-climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, eagle watching and more. Community projects fulfill high school community service requirements and identify young people as community leaders. Some work is paid and may lead to summer employment.

Offers a three-week service learning program for high school youth.
Youth are trained to manage volunteers and address local impacts of climate change through environmental restoration, political advocacy and community organizing.
Provides an opportunity for high school aged youth to earn service learning hours by addressing the local impacts of climate change and protecting plants and wildlife through political advocacy, community organizing and restoring the forest of Seward Park.
Sessions are three weeks long and include one Thursday meeting and one weekend meeting each week.
Currently, sessions rotate between Seattle Public High Schools. Bus passes and snacks provided.

Offers a mentoring program for high-school aged youth. Program participants meet twice weekly from January through June to participate in service learning projects and snowboarding.
Coordinates a six-month mentoring program for high school aged youth who come together with adult mentors from a broad range of academic, racial, cultural and economic backgrounds. Program participants meet twice weekly from January through May, with weekend activities rotating between intensive service learning projects and snowboarding. The Core Program (CP) curriculum addresses five core competencies: self-knowledge, ethic of service, the arts, job-readiness, and civic leadership. Attendance and participation in CP also fulfils the community service requirement for graduation, and alumni receive prioritized access to paid leadership, internship and job opportunities with us and our partners.
