KCLS offers homework assistance in several ways.    Study Zone: Volunteer tutors provide free homework help at KCLS libraries. An after school program that supports children in Monroe. Twice weekly, children kindergarten through 5th grade meet together to have a healthy snack, play games and do crafts, meet in small groups to focus on some academic and social/emotional learning, then come back together for a short lesson of the day that focuses on their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and learning.

Works in partnership with Kent Meridian and Rainier Beach High Schools to offer year-long after-school academic programs to all newly arrived refugee youth in high school. Classroom Assistants and students meet weekly to complete homework assignments, tackle the senior research project, and complete important college application paperwork, such as the FAFSA. Time is divided into classroom instruction, individual and group work, mentorship, educational workshops, and access to scholastic resources.   Both sites feature Classroom Assistants who focus on assisting students as they participate in academic activities to improve their reading and writing skills and increase their knowledge of college and career readiness. The program strives to provide the information, resources, and access to opportunities to meet and exceed grade level standards, while completing high school graduation and college application milestones in order to graduate on time and with plans to pursue post-secondary education. Also provides opportunities for students to participate in civic and community engagement projects to build their leadership skills as well as to complete service learning requirements for graduation.

If you are working on a tough homework assignment or have questions about a lesson, come to the Library for Homework Help. We have volunteers who can help K-12 students with math, science, English, social studies and science. Students without homework can read and play learning enrichment games with trained tutors. You can get Homework Help most days during the school year, except on weekends and school holidays. No reservations are needed just come to the Library during Homework Help hours and bring your homework assignment and textbook. If our volunteers do not know an answer, they will help you find it. Do not worry if you do not have all the supplies you need. We have many things available that you can use, like graphing calculators, markers, paper, pencils, and a laptop. Operates an out-of-school time program at three NTPS school sites before school, after school, and during the summer. Engages in a variety of activities designed to improve both academic and social skills. Workshops focus on STEM, life skills, and critical thinking. Additionally, youth explore their cultures, languages, and identities through the A.R.B.O.L. curriculum. Offers a dedicated Family Liaison who works closely with families and students to ensure they have all the resources and support they need to succeed in school. This includes assistance with communication, community resources, and support in areas such as rent assistance, utility bill help, and other essential needs. The Family Liaison plays a crucial role in ensuring families have access to what they need to help their children succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Youth Programs provide a wide variety of services to low-income in-school (ages 14-21) and out-of-school (ages 16-24) youth to help them succeed in school and work. Program participants may receive a range of services from the following areas: occupational skills training; career counseling; internships; job placements; mentoring; tutoring; leadership development; financial literacy; entrepreneurial skills training; local labor market and employment information services; postsecondary education and training transition support; workforce preparation and training activities designed for specific career clusters; and additional supportive services.

Provides a before and after school program based out of local community centers, as well as school districts for students in K through 12th grades. Offers academic and enrichment opportunities for students and their families before school, after school, and during the summer. The program's goals are to increase student academic achievements in: math, reading, English, science, students’ engagement and commitment to school, health/fitness and nutrition awareness, technology, arts, music, theater, and robotics. The program includes reading, academic skill building and homework help in structured one-to-one tutoring sessions. Tutoring centers are staffed by education professionals and volunteers. Children are transported to and from Beacon Hill International and Kimball Elementary schools by van and they participate in academic as well as cultural activities.

Newly arrived refugee youth can receive tutoring services in a convenient and effective way that offers on-going support throughout the academic year.    The In-Home Tutoring program's long term goal is to improve the wellbeing and success of K-12 English language learners attending Seattle Public Schools through improved academic achievement, increased participation in academic behaviors, and increased parent involvement in students' education.
